Bolton: The conflict with Iran is a European war, not an American one

Europe's position regarding the conflict with Iran risks prompting American President Donald Trump to withdraw from the Ukrainian conflict, warned his former National Security Adviser John Bolton.

Bolton, in an interview with Euronews, criticized European leaders for their response to events in the Middle East. "Europe faces an equal, if not greater danger from a nuclear attack if Iran obtains nuclear weapons," he stated.

According to him, Iran has the capability to launch missiles that can reach Central and Eastern Europe, but not the United States. Precisely for that reason, the conflict with Iran is a "European war," not an American one.

Bolton warned that European leaders, with their lack of political will for military action against Iran, may "invite" Trump to conclude that "Ukraine is not an American war."

The former US Ambassador to the UN emphasized that unless Europe shows greater resolve, the consequences will be far-reaching not only for the Middle East but also for the security architecture of the entire continent.
