Bulgaria and Ukraine signed a 10-year security agreement during Bulgarian PM Andrej Gyurov's official visit to Kyiv, which also includes joint drone production.

PM Gyurov met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and PM Yulia Svyrydenko. The agreement places emphasis on drone production cooperation, leveraging Ukrainian expertise amid increased Russian drone attacks on European airspace.

The pact also covers energy partnerships, with Bulgaria committing to supply electricity to Ukraine during the winter months when Russian attacks on energy infrastructure intensify. Both countries agreed to expand defense industry collaboration and military training exchanges.

Gyurov described the agreement as a "natural step" given Bulgaria's geographic position and security interests. The deal makes Bulgaria one of the first EU and NATO members to sign a bilateral security agreement with Ukraine that includes joint weapons production.
