Every third Bulgarian refuses to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to a survey by Alpha Research agency conducted from March 19 to 26 on 1,000 respondents.

Although 55.8% of citizens said they would vote, 29.5% are determined not to go to the polls, which represents a worrying indicator of political disillusionment in the neighboring country.

Five parties are certain to enter the next National Assembly, but the low turnout could significantly change the balance of power. Bulgaria has been facing political instability and frequent parliamentary elections for years, which further increases voter fatigue.

The situation is also relevant for Macedonia, given the bilateral relations and open issues between the two countries.
