The extended weekend caused chaos at the border crossings toward Greece. Kilometer-long queues at Bogorodica and Dojran greeted the citizens who massively headed south for a short vacation.

As many as 20,000 citizens left the country during the evening hours alone, according to border police data. Waiting at the crossings lasted for hours, causing frustration among travelers.

The Bogorodica border crossing was the most congested, with queues stretching kilometers back. A similar situation occurred at Dojran, where travelers waited more than two hours to cross.

This massive migration to Greek beaches and resorts has become a regular occurrence during extended weekends, and authorities are urging patience and planning travel during less congested hours.
