Ivica Dacic, Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, has been hospitalized at the Pulmonology Clinic of the Clinical Center of Serbia, placed on a ventilator due to severe bilateral pneumonia. His condition is further complicated by existing chronic illnesses - diabetes and heart problems.

President Aleksandar Vucic stated that the parameters are "slightly better" but urged caution in making predictions. "The parameters are slightly better, but it is not wise to make predictions," Vucic said, adding that Dacic "also has other illnesses that complicate the situation."

Spasoje Popovic, deputy director of the Pulmonology Clinic, confirmed the severity of the condition: "Dacic's condition remains severe and serious. The medical team is making enormous efforts and fighting above all for improvement."

Dacic had previously spoken publicly about his health challenges. Last March, he revealed that work pressure had seriously damaged his health, and his blood sugar levels had reached critical values. "My blood sugar was 20 yesterday. All of this can continue, but not for long," he said at the time.

Dacic (60) is a long-serving Serbian politician who has led the Interior Ministry for several years. The public across the region is following his health condition with concern, and numerous politicians and public figures have sent messages of support and wishes for a speedy recovery.
