Earthquake Series Rattles Northern Greece - Strongest 4.6 Near Ioannina

A series of earthquakes struck northern Greece, with the strongest tremor measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

The tremor occurred at 04:20 with the epicenter approximately 14 kilometers northwest of Ioannina, at a depth of around 10 kilometers.

The Ioannina and Rhodope region recorded multiple seismic events in recent days, including tremors of 4.1 on April 4, 3.5 on April 4 and 3.4 on April 5, indicating increased seismic activity in the Epirus region.

Eyewitnesses on the EMSC website described the earthquake as strong and prolonged. There are no reports of injuries or significant material damage so far.
