Due to Easter celebrations, a special traffic regime takes effect in Skopje from 6 PM today, with temporary closures of some main roads and rerouting of public transport lines.

In the central area, the following roads will be closed to traffic: Partizanski Odredi Boulevard from the intersection with Franklin Roosevelt to VMRO Boulevard, Sv. Kliment Ohridski Boulevard from Ilinden to Dimitrije Cupovski, and Mitropolit Teodosij Gologanov Street from 9 Maj to the roundabout at Sv. Kiril i Metodij.

Changes will also affect public transport. Buses that normally cross the Goce Delcev Bridge will be rerouted via Ilinden Boulevard and Franklin Roosevelt Street, while some central lines will operate on modified routes through M.T. Gologanov.

Outside the center, in the municipality of Gjorce Petrov, Makedonska Vojska Street near the Sv. Petar i Pavle church will be closed, while in the municipality of Aerodrom, the local road toward the village of Lisice will be shut down.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs says the regime will be enforced as needed, depending on the movement and gathering of citizens around religious sites. Additional streets may be closed if necessary.

Police urge citizens to follow the directions of uniformed officers and plan alternative routes in advance for travel during the holiday evening.
