European Gas Pumps May Run Dry by April 20 - Energy Crisis Warning

European gas stations could run out of fuel as early as April 20, warned Kirill Dmitriev, director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and presidential special envoy for economic cooperation.

Dmitriev stated that the last energy shipments to the European Union will arrive through the Strait of Hormuz on April 11. He urged caution, advising everyone to "fasten their seatbelts" due to possible market turbulence.

Meanwhile, the German economy is facing recession, partly due to high energy costs following the cut-off of Russian gas supplies. GDP fell by 0.2% in 2024, marking a second consecutive annual decline.

Such a two-year decline was last recorded in 2002-2003. The warnings come amid growing uncertainty in energy markets, driven by geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions.
