Police arrested four people for domestic violence in several cities across Macedonia in a series of incidents over the course of one day, revealing a troubling wave of domestic abuse.

In central Skopje, a 38-year-old man was arrested for physically assaulting his 53-year-old partner, who had previously been subjected to both psychological and physical abuse. In Aerodrom, a 26-year-old attacked his 66-year-old father and destroyed items in the home.

In Drachevo, a 43-year-old man threw a sharp object at his 37-year-old partner but missed. In Gostivar, a 44-year-old woman attacked her 67-year-old mother.

In Negotino, a 60-year-old man is being investigated for threatening his 59-year-old wife. The public prosecutor and social work centers have been notified in all cases. All arrested individuals are under investigation with formal criminal charges expected.
