Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed readiness to continue leading the government, despite her Social Democrats achieving their weakest electoral result in more than a century - only 21.9% of votes, down from 27.5% in 2022.

The left-wing coalition won 84 of 179 parliamentary seats, insufficient for an absolute majority. Right-wing parties gained 77 seats. Centrist parties led by Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, who secured 14 mandates, will play a decisive role in coalition negotiations.

Among notable shifts, the Socialist People's Party reached second place with 11.6%, while the far-right Danish People's Party tripled its share to 9.1%.

Results from the autonomous territories of Greenland and the Faroe Islands may influence the final outcome. Frederiksen acknowledged the expected drop in support after three consecutive election campaigns.
