Orthodox Christians today mark Good Friday - the day of Christ's suffering and crucifixion, considered the saddest day in the church calendar.

According to Orthodox tradition, this day is not for light words but calls for inner silence and spiritual solemnity. Good Friday represents the crucifixion and death of Christ - not as a distant historical event, but as the essence of suffering, love and salvation.

"Where the world sees defeat, faith recognises a mystery" - that is the message of this day, which transcends the outward sense of injustice and death.

The Good Friday fast is not merely a dietary restriction but a spiritual gathering and awakening. The faithful abstain from food and drink until the bringing out of the epitaphios.

Tomorrow Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter - the feast of Christ's resurrection. A special traffic regime will be in effect in Skopje tomorrow due to Easter liturgies held in churches across the city.
