Hegseth fires US Army chief amid Iran war

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth removed the Army Chief of Staff, the Pentagon announced.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed to have destroyed an enemy combat aircraft over the Persian Gulf. The Tehran-Karaj bridge was damaged in an airstrike with confirmed casualties.

The conflict, which began on February 28, has expanded across the Middle East. Over one million people have been displaced in Lebanon.
