The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund approved a new four-year Extended Fund Facility program for Ukraine worth $8.1 billion. The first tranche, amounting to approximately $1.5 billion, will reach the country soon.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that the funds will be used to "finance the budget deficit and support macrofinancial stability." The program covers the country's needs in a period when the state budget deficit is projected at $136.5 billion over four years.

This financial support represents a key foundation for broader international financial assistance, particularly the 90 billion euro loan package from the European Union. The program builds on previous macroeconomic reforms that have maintained financial stability in recent years.

The IMF program also includes the continuation of structural adjustments aimed at strengthening institutions, improving the business climate and creating conditions for sustainable economic growth in Ukraine after the end of the military conflict.
