Iran launched ballistic missiles at the Diego Garcia military base in the Indian Ocean, one of the most important strategic facilities of the US and Great Britain. The two projectiles did not hit the target, but the attack opened a new chapter in the conflict - the direct involvement of Britain.

London responded sharply. The British Ministry of Defence condemned the attacks as "irresponsible," confirming that the government had given Washington permission to use British bases for "specific and limited defensive operations." Around ten British military planners were sent to the US Central Command headquarters in Tampa.

Iran's foreign minister responded that "the vast majority of Britons reject participation in the Israeli-American war against Iran," warning that British involvement endangers the lives of citizens.

Diego Garcia, located thousands of kilometers from continental Africa and Asia, is the largest military installation in the Chagos Archipelago. Analysts warn of three key risks: Iran maintains long-range strike capability of around 4,000 km, civilian aircraft could be threatened, and members of the regional coalition are becoming targets for conventional and asymmetric Iranian threats.
