Iran attacks Riyadh with ballistic missiles - Saudi Arabia threatens military response

Saudi Arabia reserves the right to military action against Iran after ballistic missiles struck Riyadh, said Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.

"This Iranian pressure will come back to them politically and morally, and we naturally retain the option for military measures if circumstances demand it", the prince said at a press conference following meetings with diplomats from the region.

Around twelve foreign ministers - including Turkey, the UAE, Jordan, Qatar and Syria - gathered for consultations in Riyadh. Near the hotel where the conference was held, anti-missile defenses were observed in action.

Since the start of the conflict, Saudi Arabia has faced hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks, with authorities claiming the vast majority were intercepted. The Defense Ministry reported intercepting four ballistic projectiles aimed at Riyadh.

Bin Farhan stressed that Saudi Arabia still prefers diplomatic channels, but warned: "If Iran does not stop immediately, I believe practically nothing can restore trust."
