Iran introduces new system in Hormuz, claims to have shot down US F-35

Iran has introduced a new navigation control system in the Strait of Hormuz and claims to have shot down a US F-35 stealth jet – the first such claim in the world.

New supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a statement. The Strait of Hormuz is 33.8 km wide and controls 20% of global energy transport.

Iran maintains underground "missile cities" on the islands of Keshm and Karg. Foreign Minister Araghchi stated that the response was "only a fraction of Iran's power."
