The speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, accused US President Donald Trump of "blindly following the orders" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning that the entire region could be drawn into a wider conflict.
"The entire region will burn if you continue with this policy," Qalibaf said, alluding to American support for Israel.
The Iranian official added that the only solution is respect for the rights of the Iranian people and an end to what he called a "dangerous military game."
Tensions escalated after the US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28, further deteriorating the security situation in the Middle East.
