Iranian drone strikes Dubai airport, oil prices surge

An Iranian drone struck a fuel storage facility at Dubai International Airport, causing a large fire and a temporary halt to all operations. Flights gradually began resuming from 10:00 local time.

The attack marked day 17 of the conflict and triggered a dramatic surge in oil prices. Brent crude oil reached approximately $105 per barrel, representing a 40% increase since the start of hostilities. US benchmark crude rose nearly 50%, trading around $99.68 per barrel.

The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard warned that an attack on Hormuz Island would cause "unprecedented" global energy disruptions, advising Gulf nations that Western powers cannot guarantee their security.

Israel launched "limited and targeted ground operations" against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, following strikes on "numerous terrorist targets" in the region.

Japan began releasing strategic oil reserves to stabilize supplies amid disruptions to tanker traffic. President Trump postponed a planned summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling on Beijing to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran province has reported 503 dead and approximately 5,700 injured since February 28, when military operations began.
