A landslide that occurred yesterday evening at 6:30 PM caused the closure of the bypass road around Bitola. The authorities redirected all traffic through the city center to ensure safe passage for drivers while removal works are underway.

According to information from the Agency for State Roads of Macedonia, "Teams from PE Makedonija Pat are working on removing the landslide and normalizing traffic conditions." The works are expected to continue until the roadway is fully cleared and safe for use.

The agency urged drivers to exercise increased caution, especially on mountain passes and river valleys where there is a higher risk of similar incidents. Special caution is recommended on the following routes: Katlanovo-Veles, Mavrovo-Debar-Struga, Vinica-Berovo, and Kocani-Delcevo.

The general condition of state roads is passable with dry roadways, and traffic intensity on routes outside urban areas is moderate. There are no significant delays at border crossings in either direction.

Drivers traveling toward Bitola are advised to follow updates from the relevant authorities and to expect additional guidance on alternative routes until the landslide is fully removed and the bypass road reopens.
