On March 8, 2026, thousands of women and men gathered in the streets of Skopje for the International Women's Day march under the slogan "We Won't Disappear." The march was directed against femicide, gender-based violence, and the systemic lack of institutional protection for women.

Participants carried banners with powerful messages – "Justice for Rosica," "Justice for Ivana" – naming specific victims of violence and demanding accountability from the responsible institutions. Marchers chanted and called for resignations, emphasizing that symbolic gestures one day a year are not enough.

Organizers, after the conclusion of the march, announced that March 8, 2026 will be remembered as the day of the largest women's protest in the country's history. "We sincerely thank everyone who marched with us. We do not stop, we do not forget, the struggle continues every day," their statement read.

Demonstrators appealed to institutions and society as a whole to participate in creating a more just and humane environment, emphasizing that equality and safety for women is not just a matter of one day, but a fundamental prerequisite for democratic development. The message was clear: the fight against violence against women is ongoing and does not end with the sunset of March 8.
