A Macedonian citizen was arrested in Greece after being caught riding a motorcycle at a speed of 223 kilometers per hour in a zone where the limit is 110 kilometers per hour.

The 49-year-old Macedonian was stopped on the Thessaloniki-Evzoni highway, on the road toward the border crossing with Macedonia to exit Greece, where he was driving at approximately double the permitted speed.

State television ERT reported that the arrested person had his driver's license and registration plates confiscated, received a fine of 700 euros, and was to be brought before a public prosecutor the same day.

The regional police directorate of Central Macedonia (Greece) posted photos on social media showing the radar measurement with the recorded speed and the arrested person's motorcycle.
