Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski confirmed the good political and economic ties between Macedonia and the US following a series of meetings in Washington.

Nikoloski participated in the annual World Bank conference, where he spoke alongside the EU Commissioner for Transport. "For the first time at a high-level political meeting, the EU was not the number one topic," he stated, noting that this reflects the current bilateral dynamic.

Beyond economic topics, Nikoloski held several political meetings at the State Department and the Security Council, including with the Assistant Secretary of State for Europe.

He emphasized that the Government had received praise for supporting the US position in certain UN votes, where Macedonia was among the few countries that backed the American stance. Nikoloski concluded that the US is the primary strategic partner, and similar agreements with Great Britain represent a shift in foreign policy focus.
