Crude oil prices continue to rise following American military strikes on key Iranian energy infrastructure. Brent crude reached $105 per barrel - the highest price since Russia's invasion of Ukraine four years ago.

The strikes targeted Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub responsible for approximately 90% of the country's petroleum shipments. President Trump claimed the attacks "completely destroyed a large part of the island."

The Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly one-fifth of global oil reserves normally transit, remains largely closed since the start of the crisis. Trump called on allied nations to help reopen the maritime route.

Oil prices surged by more than 40% in two weeks following the military strikes, disrupting exports through the strait. In the US, gasoline prices reached $3.70 per gallon, an increase of 62 cents in one month.

Asian countries introduced emergency measures including fuel subsidies and rationing programs to cope with the energy crisis.
