Pentagon seeks 200 billion dollars for the war with Iran - 11 billion spent in one week

The Pentagon is seeking White House approval for over 200 billion dollars from Congress to fund military operations against Iran, making this one of the most expensive military engagements in recent decades.

In the first week alone, military costs exceeded 11 billion dollars, according to multiple officials. The request is aimed at urgently increasing weapons production, whose stockpiles were rapidly depleted during strikes by American and Israeli forces on thousands of targets.

Deputy Defense Secretary Steven Feinberg is leading Pentagon efforts, focusing on strengthening American defense capabilities and increasing precision munitions production.

The funding request will likely trigger a major congressional debate, given that public support for the military operations remains weak and Democrats are voicing sharp criticism. Republicans are signaling support but have yet to identify a clear path to the required 60 votes in the Senate.
