Heavy police presence and drone deployment were observed today in the village of Orel near Sveti Nikole, where an intensive search is being conducted in connection with the disappearance of 45-year-old Zlata Jankova.

Police are searching old wells and the surroundings of weekend houses in the settlement. Local residents believe the authorities have found a significant lead.

"Police everywhere, they're searching the well, drones flying, but nobody is telling me anything. I think they're looking for Zlata," said one of the residents.

Zlata Jankova went missing in June 2024. Her husband has been searching for nearly two years, organizing hunger strikes to pressure authorities to locate his wife. This area had been searched previously, but without results.
