Renowned director Aleksandar Popovski, who has served as artistic director of the Maribor Drama in Slovenia for eight years, announced that he wants to direct a play about nostalgia at the Macedonian National Theatre.

"I want to direct a play about nostalgia at MNT. We are in negotiations, definitely," said Popovski, whose last production in Macedonia was in 2012. He is in talks with MNT director Nikola Kimovski about the new project.

Popovski has over 70 theatre productions across Europe behind him - in Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Austria, Turkey, Sweden, Denmark, England and Germany. His 2012 production "The Life of Moliere" remains the only Theatre Center production transferred to the new MNT building.

With the Maribor Drama, Popovski is visiting MNT with the play "Amadeus" - a rare opportunity for Skopje audiences to see his directorial mastery after 14 years of absence from the Macedonian stage.
