Kosta Kecmanovic, the boy who committed the mass shooting at the Belgrade elementary school "Vladislav Ribnikar" in May 2023, will testify today in the trial against his parents Miljana and Vladimir Kecmanovic.
This is Kecmanovic's second testimony in the proceedings, in which his parents are charged with a serious criminal offense against public safety - for failing to secure the weapon with which their son carried out the massacre.
Nine students and one security guard were killed in the attack at "Ribnikar," and several others were seriously injured. The case triggered mass protests in Serbia and sparked a broad debate about school safety and weapons control.
The trial is attracting enormous public attention across the entire region. Kecmanovic, who was only 13 years old at the time of the crime, cannot be held criminally responsible under Serbian law, but his testimony is crucial for establishing the parents' responsibility.
