Russia-Ukraine peace talks paused due to Iran war

Peace negotiations between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine have been paused due to the conflict with Iran, the Kremlin confirmed through the Izvestia news outlet.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev will continue working on investments and economic cooperation, but the trilateral negotiations are on hold.

"Kirill Dmitriev continues his work. The trilateral group is on pause," Izvestia reported.

The pause in negotiations comes at a time when the Middle East dominates global attention and US military resources. Some analysts believe the conflict with Iran could pressure Kyiv toward compromise, while others warn that the pause gives Russian forces time to regroup.
