Nenad Saveski took office as the new state public prosecutor, giving a sworn statement before the Speaker of Parliament Afrim Gashi. With 66 votes in favor, Parliament elected Saveski yesterday, and his mandate lasts six years with the possibility of re-election.

"There will be no selective justice or keeping cases in a drawer", Saveski announced, promising thorough accountability, transparency, and modernization of the prosecutorial system.

He identified working conditions as the most serious challenge, emphasizing that "an institution with insufficient resources cannot fight wealthy criminal enterprises". He announced the introduction of a digital case tracking system that will prevent delays.

He became the ninth state public prosecutor since Macedonia\\s independence in 1991, following the resignation of his predecessor Ljupcho Kocevski.
