SDSM filed an initiative with the Constitutional Court challenging January amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs.
The party accuses VMRO-DPMNE and Minister Panche Toshkovski of politicizing the Interior Ministry (MVR). The amendments allow arbitrary reassignment of officers without clear criteria.
Veterans with over 30 years of service face demotion. Work experience is no longer included in the base salary. Police salary now depends on Toshkovski, not labor law.
The opposition calls these amendments a transformation of MVR into a party-controlled mechanism.
