Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgievski announced the start of a comprehensive sidewalk reconstruction across the city, beginning from the Partizanski Odredi boulevard on the stretch from the United Nations bridge to the Vlae pedestrian bridge.

The project covers 1,200 square meters of pedestrian surface with a width of 4 meters, a complete reconstruction with modern design, new paving, improved accessibility, renovated curbs and enhanced safety features.

Gjorgievski emphasized that this is only the beginning and that the project will continue across all main boulevards, with a total investment of 50 million denars for this phase. The work is expected to last 45 days.

"This is the first time in years that a systematic approach to sidewalk renovation has been taken," said the mayor, adding that the city plans to reconstruct a total of 15,000 square meters of sidewalks by the end of the year.
