A powerful snowstorm hit the Balkans in the middle of spring, causing chaotic conditions on the roads and unusual winter scenes in March.
Serbia was particularly affected - snow fell as if it were mid-January, with cities covered in a white blanket. Alarms were raised as snowfall intensified, and traffic was significantly disrupted.
Montenegro was also blanketed in white, with the coastal areas hit by unseasonable weather. Mountain passes in the region were covered in heavy snow with reduced visibility.
"The powerful snowstorm on the Balkans has begun and will continue to spread," said meteorologist Slavcho Poposki, warning that the weather system will continue to intensify across the wider region.
