5 simple ways to bring spring freshness into your home

After the long winter, we all feel the need for freshness. But spring decorating doesn't have to mean expensive new furniture. Sometimes, the secret is in the small details that change the flow of energy and light in your space. Here's how to refresh your home this April:

1. Swap out heavy fabrics

The first step toward spring is "undressing" your home from its winter clothes. Replace wool blankets and velvet cushions with linen or cotton fabrics in light colors (soft green, light blue or sand). Remove heavy curtains and put up sheer, light materials that allow maximum daylight to enter.

2. Bring life into every corner

Plants not only purify the air but also visually boost your mood. If you don't have much time for maintenance, choose Sansevieria or Zamia in several different pastel-colored pots.

3. Decor with the scent of nature

Scent is an often underestimated element in interior design. Instead of heavy winter fragrances of cinnamon and vanilla, use diffusers with essential oils of lemon, lavender or eucalyptus. Fresh flowers in a vase (tulips or daffodils) on the dining table is a classic that never goes out of style.

4. Reorganize and declutter

Spring is a symbol of new beginnings. Your space looks much bigger when you free it from unnecessary items. Remove all the knick-knacks from dressers that only collect dust. Keep only a few items that truly matter to you or are in the spring spirit.

5. Refresh the balcony

A small outdoor rug, two folding chairs and a few seasonal flowers can transform even the smallest terrace into a relaxation oasis.
