The "Safe City" project, designed to improve urban safety through modern technology, will soon be implemented in Strumica. The system involves the installation of smart cameras and advanced software solutions for monitoring traffic, public order, and citizen safety.
Through automated analysis, the system enables faster response by the relevant authorities and more efficient sanctioning of violations. The project is already operational in Skopje, where it is expected to reduce the number of traffic violations and improve public safety.
With the expansion to Strumica, authorities plan to cover key traffic routes and public spaces in the city. Local authorities announce a phased implementation, aiming for full functionality tailored to the needs of citizens.
Public awareness campaigns about how the system works and its benefits are also planned. Expectations include increased safety, reduced crime, and improved quality of life.
However, some citizens express concern about privacy protection and data usage. The question of how the authorities will balance the need for security with the protection of personal data remains open.
