American President Donald Trump agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran and postponed the military attack, on condition that Tehran fully and immediately opens the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump announced the decision on his Truth Social platform, following talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, who requested a delay to allow diplomacy to work.

\"Based on conversations with Pakistan, and on condition that the Islamic Republic agrees to a complete, immediate and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack on Iran for a period of two weeks,\" Trump wrote.

The Pakistani prime minister confirmed that the agreement covers all subregions, including Lebanon, and negotiations will continue in Islamabad on April 10. Diplomatic channels through Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia continue to mediate between the two sides.

Markets reacted positively - oil prices fell below 100 dollars per barrel, and stock indices rose globally. Israel, however, reacted negatively, with one Israeli official criticizing Trump saying: \"He looked weak.\"
