The son of the American president, Donald Trump Jr., visited Banja Luka where he sharply criticized the European Union, describing it as "a complete disaster that needs to be fixed."

At the panel discussion, Trump Jr. praised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, calling him "a great fighter for Western values." The visit was assessed as a PR victory for Milorad Dodik, who organized the meeting through his son Igor.

Igor Dodik announced that Trump Jr. would bring American investors for hydropower plants on the Drina River, although environmental organizations warn that the "Buk Bijela" project would turn the river into a 30-kilometer-long lake.

The visit took place under heightened security measures, with Trump Jr. arriving at the Banja Luka airport where he was greeted by Igor Dodik in his capacity as organizational secretary of the ruling SNSD party.

Analysts assess that the visit is part of a broader American offensive in the region, coinciding with Vice President Vance's visit to Budapest.
