Ukrainian drones last night struck the major Sheskharis oil terminal in the southern Russian port city of Novorossiysk, causing fires and significant infrastructure damage.

According to independent Russian media, the most intense fires burned at the first port pier, and a second pier was also hit. The terminal's control systems (SCADA) were damaged, and oil delivery operations cannot continue due to the damage.

City authorities confirmed that drone debris struck a residential building in the southern part of the city. Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said eight people were injured. The cities of Anapa, Gelendzhik and Sochi were placed on heightened alert.

Novorossiysk became strategically important for Russia's Black Sea Fleet after numerous ships were relocated from occupied Crimea due to repeated Ukrainian strikes. The port serves as a key military and logistics center.

This is not the first attack on Sheskharis. A source from Ukraine's Security Service confirmed that Ukraine hit the same terminal on March 2, damaging six of seven oil loading arms.
