The administration of Donald Trump delivered a 15-point plan to Iran for ending the conflict, requesting a one-month ceasefire to discuss the proposal, world media report citing Israeli "Channel 12."

The first five points of the plan concern the nuclear sector. Washington demands that Iran never attempt to acquire nuclear weapons, surrender all enriched nuclear fuel by a set date, and dismantle several key nuclear facilities.

Iran would need to renounce support for groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, and stop financing and arming them. Limitations on the number of missiles the country may possess and on their range are also included.

Additionally, the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20 percent of global fossil fuel shipments pass, must remain open for navigation.

The demands were delivered through Pakistan as an intermediary, which maintains good relations with both sides. The Iranian armed forces spokesman said regarding the plan that the Americans are effectively negotiating with themselves, adding: "Someone like us will never settle with someone like you."

The comments come after Trump said Iran "so desperately" wants a deal and that he gave the US "a very big gift worth an enormous sum of money."
