A sweeping new US intelligence assessment has identified Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea as the four most significant threats to American national security, painting a sobering picture of the global threat landscape through 2035.

The report warns that these four nations could collectively possess up to 16,000 missiles by 2035, including advanced intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the American homeland. The assessment highlights accelerated ICBM development programs in multiple countries as a particular cause for concern.

Intelligence officials noted the growing use of drones as a tool to overwhelm conventional defense systems, a tactic that has proven effective in recent conflicts. The report warns that adversaries are developing swarm drone technology specifically designed to saturate and defeat Western air defenses.

Cyber threats also feature prominently in the assessment, with all four nations identified as possessing sophisticated capabilities to target American critical infrastructure, financial systems, and military networks. The intelligence community warned that the convergence of missile, drone, and cyber capabilities creates a multi-domain threat environment that will require significant investment in new defensive technologies and strategies.
