Nearly 200,000 truck drivers in the United States face losing their commercial licenses due to new FMCSA regulations restricting foreign nationals' eligibility. The policy affects holders of H-2A, H-2B, and E-2 visas, asylum seekers, refugees, and DACA recipients.

Transport Secretary Duffy justified the move as closing a "security gap." With 3.5 million drivers and a shortage of 80,000, the policy threatens supply chains. Trucks carry 70% of US cargo. During the public comment period, 86.7% opposed the regulations.
