Vučić: World War III Is Already Underway, We Just Haven't Been Told

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has made the stark declaration that World War III is effectively already underway, asserting that global leaders have simply failed to acknowledge the reality of the situation to their citizens.

Speaking publicly about the escalating global tensions, Vučić pointed to the simultaneous conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine as evidence that the world has entered a period of confrontation that goes beyond isolated regional disputes.

The Serbian president argued that the involvement of major powers on multiple fronts, the weaponization of energy supplies, and the growing risk of direct confrontation between nuclear-armed states all point to a conflict dynamic that meets the threshold of a world war in all but name.

Vučić's remarks reflect a growing unease among leaders in the Western Balkans and beyond about the trajectory of global events. While some have dismissed the characterization as alarmist, others note that the interconnected nature of current conflicts — with Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea on one side and the US and its allies on the other — does bear concerning parallels to previous periods of global confrontation. Serbia, which maintains relationships with both Russia and the West, has sought to position itself as a neutral voice amid the escalating tensions.
