18,000 Bitcoin millionaires vanish as cryptocurrency drops 25 percent

The drop in the value of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin in the first quarter of 2026 led to a dramatic decrease in the number of crypto millionaires, according to research by Finbold.

The number of Bitcoin addresses holding assets worth at least 1 million dollars decreased by more than 18,000 - from 131,716 to 113,233 addresses. In the same period, the price of Bitcoin fell from 88,341 to 65,982 dollars, a decline of 25.31 percent.

Even more drastically, the number of addresses worth at least 10 million dollars decreased by 2,107.

This is a clear example of how quickly assets can move in the chain during periods of instability, analysts note. Although more than 18,000 million-dollar holdings have disappeared, the movement was driven by price, not by large-volume selling.

Experts note that the instability hits smaller and medium-sized holders the hardest, while larger players are in a better position to weather the downturn cycle.
