Fuel prices in Macedonia continue to rise - a new increase in fuel prices is expected from Monday, as the oil crisis linked to the Middle East conflict continues to impact the global market.

DUI is demanding emergency measures to protect citizens: a linear wage increase of 3,500 denars starting from March wages, a temporary freeze on prices of basic food products, activation of state oil reserves procured at under 70 denars per liter, and a voucher of 3,000 denars for workers who commute outside their place of residence.

"For a week now, citizens have been facing a continuous rise in prices of basic products and fuels, while the Ministry of Economy and the Government remain silent without concrete measures to ease the pressure on family budgets," DUI stated.

The party emphasized that these are "achievable measures that can be implemented immediately if there is institutional will", stressing that citizens need a swift response, not institutional silence.
