Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated that "Ukraine wants to impose a complete energy blockade against Hungary". He emphasized that Ukrainian actions already blocking oil supply through the Druzhba pipeline are now accompanied by attempts to obstruct gas deliveries through TurkStream.

Szijjarto characterized the situation as serious, stating that "the oil blockade through the Druzhba pipeline and this attack on TurkStream represent a serious attack on our sovereignty".

He emphasized that without TurkStream, Hungary cannot securely obtain gas either geographically or physically. Szijjarto added that he had previously spoken with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin, who informed him about Ukrainian attempts to attack TurkStream infrastructure.

These developments deepen the already tense relations between Budapest and Kyiv, with Hungary continually expressing concern about energy security and pressure on its interests within the European Union.
