Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that "Ukraine wants to impose a complete energy blockade against Hungary." He emphasized that Ukrainian actions already blocking oil supply through the "Druzhba" pipeline are now being accompanied by attempts to disrupt gas deliveries through "TurkStream."

Szijjártó characterized the situation as serious, stating that "the oil blockade via the Druzhba pipeline and this attack on TurkStream constitute a serious attack on our sovereignty."

He emphasized that without TurkStream, Hungary cannot safely obtain gas supply either geographically or physically. Szijjártó added that he had previously spoken with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin, who informed him of Ukrainian attempts to attack TurkStream infrastructure.

These events deepen already strained relations between Budapest and Kyiv, with Hungary constantly expressing concern about energy security and pressure on its interests within the European Union.
