An intensive search is underway for an American pilot whose aircraft was shot down over Iranian territory. Iran offered a reward of $60,000 for anyone who helps locate the crew member, while American helicopters and special forces also conduct rescue operations in the region.

An American F-15 was shot down over Iran, with both crew members ejecting. One was successfully rescued through an operation involving two American helicopters, which then landed on Iraqi territory despite being hit by Iranian air defences. The fate of the second pilot remains unknown.

This is just one of several American aircraft lost in the conflict - a total of seven US aircraft have been lost in various incidents over Iraq, Kuwait, and the broader region.

President Trump declined to comment on possible consequences. The International Atomic Energy Agency expressed concern over strikes near nuclear installations, while the Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed to international shipping.
