Iran's Revolutionary Guard damaged a critical American radar system in Qatar, according to footage broadcast by Al Jazeera. The AN/FPS-132 early warning radar, located at Al-Udeid Air Base, is valued at 1.1 billion dollars.

This radar is designed to detect ballistic missiles at a range of up to 5,000 kilometers and plays a crucial role in providing early warning and data transmission to regional air defense systems such as THAAD and Patriot.

The footage published by Al Jazeera shows damage to the system, representing a significant symbolic and strategic blow to American military infrastructure in the Middle East.

The attack demonstrates that Iran is capable of striking key American defense systems, and not just logistical targets. Al-Udeid base is one of the most important American military facilities in the region and serves as a coordination center for air operations.

The destruction of the radar leaves a significant gap in the US early warning system in the Persian Gulf, potentially reducing the ability to detect future missile attacks in the region.
