Israel prepares for total invasion of Lebanon: We'll do the same as in Gaza

Israel is preparing for a total ground invasion of Lebanon, aiming to control all territory south of the Litani river and destroy Hezbollah's military infrastructure. This would be the largest Israeli ground operation in the northern neighbor since 2006.

The strategic shift came after a massive coordinated attack in which Hezbollah and Iran launched over 200 projectiles. "Before that attack we were prepared for a ceasefire in Lebanon, but after it there is no turning back from a major operation," an Israeli representative stated.

The IDF currently maintains three armored and infantry divisions at the border. An Israeli official described the tactical approach: "We will do the same as we did in Gaza" - destroying buildings that Hezbollah uses to store weapons and launch attacks.

The Hezbollah leader countered with a warning that the ground invasion is "a trap you will fall into." The Trump administration supports broader Israeli action while seeking to limit damage to Lebanese state infrastructure. Around 800,000 Lebanese civilians are displaced and at least 773 people have lost their lives.
