Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar accused Croatian President Zoran Milanović of antisemitism due to his statements about Israel and the Middle Eastern conflict.

On social network X, Saar wrote: "The offensive rhetoric of the Croatian president is unacceptable. His language full of hatred toward Israel and Zionism reflects an antisemitic approach." He added that Croatia, as a member of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, committed to fighting antisemitism, and that the president "has betrayed these commitments."

The dispute arose from Milanović's statements following a meeting with Israeli Ambassador Geri Koren, who had been summoned to the presidential office. Milanović stated that both Iran and Israel apply terrorist methods in the Middle East. When describing the ambassador's concern about the Iranian embassy in Zagreb, Milanović responded: "Some official from Tel Aviv pointed out that there is a terrorist nest in the center of the city. This is Zagreb, not Tel Aviv."
