Former Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski admitted that he had written to the SDSM party leadership to inform them he would be appearing on a television show, but the party did not respond.
"I wrote to them, but they did not get back to me", Kovachevski said with a laugh during the interview, confirming tensions within the largest opposition party.
During the show, Kovachevski admitted that SDSM is losing the battle and that the party cannot return even to second place, let alone first, in the near future. The statement triggered strong reactions and comments that the center-left is completely fragmented.
The incident confirms suspicions of deep internal party divisions and a lack of communication between the former and current SDSM leadership.
